We visit the G-Force trainer in Engelbergertal in a closed group.
The aim of this training is to get to know and extend your physical limits. In an emergency and without training, situations with high centrifugal forces can have fatal consequences.
The spiral dive is also the key to many possibilities in paragliding. Whether for thermal and cross-country flying or as a basis for the SAT in all variations up to the initiation of infinity tumbling, there is no way around this maneuver.
It is more difficult for the body to tolerate a longer spiral of 3 g than short-term peak loads such as those that occur with some acro figures (up to approx. 6.5 g).
Take advantage of G-Force training to increase your safety!
In simulator training, it is possible to get to know the “blackout” and its preliminary stages and thus lose the fear of it. Because if it really happens, you are not immediately unconscious, you still have a short time to react. With a little practice, you can even take countermeasures until you can see something again without reducing your G-load. If you don’t know your limits and instinctively react with a “fearful stall” in flight, you can quickly lose your last chance, especially if the flight condition was not caused intentionally (e.g. after a collision or a stable spiral dive in the event of a hang-up). Experience has shown that this training method is very well tolerated physically. Day training has proven to be a good way of learning how to deal with G-forces. With this technique, the resistance of most pilots can be approximately doubled in one day, which means that the forces occurring in the spiral can be endured as a continuous load. This is crucial for using the spiral dive as a descent aid. It is then advisable to put the experience gained from the simulator training into practice as part of safety training or spiral training. At this point, you will be familiar with the centrifugal loads that occur and can concentrate on perfecting your entry and exit during safety training, which varies from glider to glider, without being surprised by unknown loads.
