Beamer 3 – maximum safety and control

High Adventure has been setting standards for Rogallo rescue systems with the Beamer since 1995. The Beamer 3 impresses with its fast opening, very low sink rate and stable, controllable flight attitude – especially when connected to the paraglider. The optimized pre-braking prevents downplane effects and initially enables an almost vertical descent before the pilot can actively steer away if there is sufficient height.

The advantages at a glance

  • Extremely fast opening:
The Beamer 3 opens up to 50% faster than conventional round caps. This is particularly important when the rescue is thrown at a low height – in other words, in situations where it really counts. The special construction and folding technique ensures quick, clear unfolding without tangling.

  • Very low sink rate:
The Beamer 3 achieves particularly low sink rates thanks to its large surface area and slight forward travel. When connected, it sinks below 3 m/s – significantly less than many conventional rescue systems. This means a softer landing and reduced risk of injury.

  • Stable, smooth flight in real emergency situations:
The Beamer 3 is designed to function stably in an emergency: if the paraglider is not separated. It is hardly disturbed by the glider, quickly takes control and prevents critical pendulum movements. The result: less stress in an already stressful moment.

  • Targeted controllability for safe landing guidance:
As soon as sufficient height is available, the pilot can actively steer and avoid obstacles such as rocks, buildings, trees or water. This forward travel is often the decisive safety advantage over round and cross canopies in an emergency scenario.

  • Prevents downplane effects:
Thanks to the pre-braked opening position, the Beamer 3 initially starts with very little propulsion. This virtually eliminates the typical “scissor sink” (downplane) between the main canopy and the rescue – a significant contribution to safety and injury prevention.
